3D printed version of the Bicicletto electric bike comes out

Materialise, a Belgian 3D printing company, recently developed a 3D printed version of the Bicicletto electric bike in cooperation with the Italian car brand Nuova SPA.

The advanced Bicicletto, the first product of the two companies, has many 3D printed parts that are not only more advanced in manufacturing technology, but also make electric bicycles lighter, faster and more cost-effective.

Founded in 1906, Nuova SPA is a car brand based in Turin, Italy. Renowned for designing and manufacturing luxury and sporty cars, the company was born again in 2014 with a focus on luxury and innovation. Its latest products include many impressive electric bikes and electric cars that retain the company's original creative ideas. Recently, in collaboration with 3D printing solutions company Materialise, the perfect combination of technological innovation and classical design has been achieved.

Similar to the ETT industrial Trayser bike with 3D printed replacement parts and the electric bike Noordung with 3D printed power box, Bicicletto is also a 3D printed bicycle. Nuova SPA CEO Julianto Imprescia explains: “3D printing is a major contributor to our development process, making production easier and helping us reduce costs. Applying additive manufacturing to existing Bicicletto designs, Challenging, but professional collaboration helps us achieve it."

Materialise's support enabled Nuova SPA to integrate 3D printed parts into new electric bikes, just the beginning of a long-term and productive partnership.
